Odd Socks Day

11th Mar 2026

🌈 World Down Syndrome Day – Celebrating Our Uniqueness at St. Teresa’s Nursery

On Wednesday 20 March, our Butterfly Family will be joining millions around the world to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day — a day all about love, belonging, diversity and the uniqueness of every child.

In St. Teresa’s, we are blessed with a community filled with personality, talent, kindness and joy. This day gives us a chance to shine a light on the beautiful individuality that makes our nursery so special.

🧦 Odd Socks for Uniqueness!

To help us celebrate, we’re inviting all children and staff to wear their brightest, most colourful odd socks.
Odd socks remind us that everyone is different — and that these differences should be embraced, celebrated and cherished.

💛 What We’ll Be Doing in Nursery

Throughout the day, we will enjoy:
✨ Story time and songs celebrating diversity
✨ Play-based activities centred on kindness and inclusion
✨ Lots of colour, creativity and conversations about what makes each of us special

Our aim is simple: to help every child feel seen, valued and loved — just as they are.

🦋 Our Butterfly Family

As a nursery, we believe deeply in nurturing each child’s strengths and supporting every little learner to flourish. World Down Syndrome Day reminds us of the beauty in difference and the joy that comes from belonging to a truly inclusive community.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the wonderful uniqueness of our children.
Together, we are #DownAndProud 💛🦋🧦
