St. Teresa's Nursery School, Belfast

School Re-opening Thursday 7th January

31st Dec 2020
Nurseries are instructed to open as planned because DE considers Nursery children to be of the lowest risk and of least risk of virus transmission to adults. However, there have been no published statistics for nursery schools and/or infection rates of staff and children. Despite the fact that many of our nurseries, including ours, have been closed and/or affected due to Covid. There is also no robust data with regards to this new and more virulent strain of Covid. Unions and teachers have concerns about this, for the safety and well-being of the workforce, children and their families. As such we will be re-doubling mitigations as much as is possible; particularly in relation to adult-to-adult contact. Please wear a face mask when dropping off children to school, social distance and do not loiter at school drop off and collection times. Please do not send your child to school if they have been in contact with anyone with Covid or if they display any symptoms. We are doing all we can to keep schools open safely but we need your support - thank-you.
